We often assume that everyone thinks like us and does everyday things like we do, but living with a clean-freak roommate shatters that perception really quickly.
There are folks that keep a zero inbox policy and there are those with 1,379 unreads and counting.
Where on the spectrum do you fall?
The reason I ask is that, as business people, we are often afraid to send too many emails, we’re afraid to repeat the same message twice because we worry people will get tired of us and our emails.
Truth is, most people don’t open every single email they get.
Most people don’t read every single thing you share, post, and send.
So don’t be afraid to remind them of your existence and the value you are there to bring to them.
Side note: one weird way I manage my emails:
I often delay reading the emails I know I will find interesting and valuable because I want to be in the right frame of mind and focus to get the most out of it. So I end up reading 2, 3 even 4 emails in a row from the same person because I’ve been “saving” them.
Don’t ask me why, this just makes sense to me.
What about you?
